TESTIMONIALS
Ben Wragg violin teacher
"Ben improved my playing in multiple ways. He taught me not only what to practice, but how to practice. His technical exercises were superb, working on one specific action until he was satisfied the level had improved before introducing something new. He used a consistent method for practice that I have gone on to use constantly though I am no longer with him, and it works incredibly well no matter the piece of music in front of me. Listening to Ben explain the 'purpose' of the piece or of music in general brought an understanding, an appreciation and a sense of comfort as a player to move away from sterile perfection to something far more genuinely musical; I will always carry this with me. Ben had a ferocious attention to detail that I never failed to appreciate. Lessons would be spent with a teacher who could explain in clear and understandable language, followed then by demonstrating his point on his own violin, and as he often felt that it was unfair to do it on his snazzy violin, he would prove the point by doing it on my violin too! He would guide my hands, guide my fingers and he would keep working towards the goal until I was there. Ben was always ready to support me in every endeavour I undertook and I always knew that with his exacting standards, I would be well prepared (provided I did my bit!). It is a wonderful thing to have a teacher like Ben. He never underestimated my capabilities, he always had my best interests at heart, he helped me to reach my potential and gave me tools that have allowed me to develop my musicianship long after I left his side. In this way, he was and always will be a key feature in my progression on the violin. Thank you Ben."

"Ben Wragg has been a wonderful violin teacher for my son who has studied with him for the last 4 years. He has a comprehensive method taking a student through various technical stages and then through repertoire. As a professional viola player and teacher myself I can fully appreciate Ben's quality teaching. My son has thoroughly enjoyed studying with him, (is currently at the Junior Academy and in the National Youth Orchestra,) has developed into a fine young violinist and is now considering continuing with him at a higher level while he is at university or music college. I can whole-heartedly recommend him as a teacher - and frequently do!"

"Ben set the solid foundation which enabled me to become a professional multi-genre violinist. I have since played at every major concert venue London professionally, performed on blockbuster film soundtracks and worked with musicians in all genres. I would highly recommend Ben’s advanced unique teaching style to any prospective student."

“Ben has been our son’s violin teacher for more than two years. We have been through several teachers before and almost came to the point when we thought Max should give up violin as he seemed to be making very little progress.
Ben as a matter of priority addressed the existing technical problems which were holding Max back and after that progress was swift.
Ben takes care to understand the character of each student in order to tailor an individual approach to teaching.
Max really enjoys his lessons with Ben and always looking forward to seeing him.”

“When I started studying with Ben, I was just about at grade 2 and now, two years on, I’m already playing grade 5 pieces. I like that even though I may be working on the same piece, I still learn something new every lesson. Ben also has a great sense of humour which makes our lessons entertaining.”

"I studied violin with Ben Wragg for three years and found him to be an inspiring teacher. He is very patient, giving instruction in a clear and comprehensive manner. Furthermore Ben's annual summer courses are a fantastic opportunity for an intensive week of work and provide great performance opportunities. I am very grateful to Ben for his help which assisted me in gaining a scholarship to study Violin at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland."
